What is a Geofence?
A Geo-Fence is a radius around a single point on a map. It creates a perimeter around an object like a home, business, or even city and is used to reference whether a vehicle is inside or outside that designated area. Setting up a geofence will allow you to create custom notifications like "Fleet Vehicle #12 entered Business Geofence".
Enable Location Services
To set up a Geofence on your mobile device, you will need to first enable location services.
Step 1. Log in to the All Aware app on your mobile device
Step 2. Tap the More icon in the bottom right
Step 3. Tap App Settings
Step 4. Tap Location Services
Step 5. Toggle on Location Services
Step 6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup
Create a Geofence: Desktop App Instructions
Step 1. Log in to the All Aware Desktop App
Step 2. Click Settings in the left sidebar
Step 3. Click Places
Step 4. In Manage Places, click Add a Fence
Step 5. The center of the geofence defaults to the account’s primary address. To move the geofence location, perform one of the following:
- Enter a full address in the Move Place To field and click the arrow icon to confirm
- Click and drag the location marker on the map
Step 6. In the Fence Name field, enter a name for the geofence
Step 7. You can adjust the radius of your geofence from 0.05 miles to 100 miles. To adjust the radius, perform one of the following:
- Enter the desired radius in the Geo-Fence Radius field (in miles).
- Click and drag one of the four white squares on the geofence on the map
Step 8. Click Save
To create more geofences, simply repeat these instructions for all geofences. We recommend creating a geofence for your business, job sites, and any other locations important to your business. After you have set up all desired geofences, learn how to receive a notification when specified vehicles enter or exit a geofence.

- Enter a specific address in the search bar on the map and tap Enter on your keyboard
- Tap and hold the location marker on the map to drag it to your desired location
Step 6. In the Enter Place Name field, enter a name for the geofence
Step 7. You can adjust the radius of your geofence from 0.05 miles to 100 miles. To adjust the radius, perform one of the following:
- Tap the radius value (default 0.10mi) in the box next to Adjust Radius and enter a value between 0.05 and 100.0 miles
- Tap the + (plus) or - (minus) icon to increase or decrease the radius
Step 8. Tap Save

Delete a Geofence: Desktop App Instructions
The default geofence is set to your account address and cannot be renamed or deleted.
Step 1. Log in to the All Aware Desktop App
Step 2. Click Settings in the left sidebar
Step 3. Click Places
Step 4. In Manage Places, click the name of the geofence you want to delete
Step 5. Click the trash can icon
Step 6. Click OK when prompted to confirm and delete the geofence
Delete a Geofence: Mobile App Instructions
The default geofence is set to your account address and cannot be renamed or deleted.
